Answer:Solar lights use batteries in this way, during the day the sunshine recharges the batteries so they light up at night. I have these lights and they are beautiful.
Question 2:Do lights turn on/off by themselves or must they be set by hand?
Answer:There is an on / blink / off switch. If you turn it to the on position they go on at dark and go off at sunrise.
